Frequently Asked Questions
I'm interested in finding out about renewable technologies. Where can I go for more information?
Energy is essential in almost every aspect of our lives and for the success of our economy. We face two long-term energy challenges:
1. Tackling climate change by reducing carbon dioxide emissions; and
2. Ensuring secure, clean and affordable energy as we become increasingly dependent on imported fuel.
We need to save energy, develop cleaner energy supplies and secure reliable energy supplies at prices set in competitive markets. Renewables are key to our strategy to tackle climate change and deploy cleaner sources of energy. We have a target that aims to see renewables grow as a proportion of our electricity supplies to 10% by 2010, with an aspiration for this level to double by 2020.
The Energy White Paper (www.berr.gov.uk/files/file39387.pdf) highlights the importance of renewable energy and how it fits into the UK energy supply.
You might like to look at our Green Business Network Affinity Schemes, as a number of companies that offer surveys and renewable technology products have kindly offered discounts exclusive to Green Business Network Members.
