Environmental Placement Programme: Achievements
The Environmental Placement Programme is a Scotland-wide programme sponsored in 2010 by the Scottish Government.
2009 Programme Outcomes:
The EPP in 2009 placed 50 students within host companies throughout Scotland and achieved the following savings. More detailed information on the benefits to individual businesses can be found in the 2009 Report.
- 28,000 tonnes of waste diverted from landfill
- 5,000 tonnes of CO2 saved
- 2845.9 m3 water / effluent savings
- £900,000 cost savings identified
- 23 companies with improved environmental management
- 15 with new customers
- 9 jobs created
